Wong Swee Chin aka Botak Chin was the most notorious gangster back in the 70's. Botak Chin was born in 1951 in Kuala Lumpur and a school drop out at the age of 15. He then later work as a fishmonger at Jalan Tun Ismail Market, after his mother's death, Botak Chin often hang out with his friends and away from his family. Away from his father's watchful eye's Botak Chin joined the 360 gang (Sak Pak Loh), and start committing small crimes. At the age of 18, Botak Chin illegally owned his first firearms and proceed robbing sprees with his gang. He was caught by police and bought to jail, However within a few months he was released from prison 1974, he formed another gang consisting a few of his friends,Ng Cheng Wong (aka Ah Wong), Beh Kok Chin (aka Pangkor Chai) and Teh Bok Lay (aka Seh Chai).
A month after that, he again purchase firearms from Thailand, he first robbed the illegal gambling den and made off with RM 5800, he then purchase more firearms from Thailand and robbed a bank in Jalan Imbi and fled with RM 95,000. He also robbed mahjong players inside a Chinese temple in Jalan Kolam Ayer and made off with RM10,000. Botak Chin is fearless and determined in pursuing his goals. On 25 September, although one of his right hand men, Chau Kuan (aka Ah Kuan) was shot dead at a sundry shop at Jalan Kovil Hilir, this did not affect his gang activities.
Their biggest robberies was on Oct 26 1975, where the gang fled with RM218,000 after gunning down a security guard delivering money to a horse racing club. With his share of approximately RM40,000 from the robbery, he again went to Thailand. This time he purchased even more weapons adding his arsenal to 19 guns, 5 hand grenades and 1,000 bullets. He was also suspected to practice black magic as in one of the epic incident in Segambut Dalam, he managed to escape unharmed despite his car riddled with bullets.
