Step Up 3D - The Return of Boring

While the trailers are bursting views into millions,

everyone must have been anticipating this groundbreaking movie of the year.

But little do you people know,

how DISAPPOINTING this movie is! Yes I've said it right.Downright disappointing!

Sure, when Step Up appeared, it became a major blockbuster.Back then, it deserved the popularity because the idea was seemingly fresh at that time (aside from other dance movies like Honey, You Got Served etc). Step Up is considered one of its kind.

The success of Step Up had lead to its sequel; Step Up 2: The Streets. This sequel is still doing fine even though the typical love story element was reused.

However, the third installation of Step Up is incredibly...boring.Effects,yes they are there but did not do the choreography any justice,at all. Storyline is flat and maybe occasionally a few little surprises (which were expected!!!!). The female lead cannot act and certainly cannot dance that well.Male lead looked painfully sad.

There are many elements in the movie that don't make sense at all.

For example; the Pirates gang can afford a gigantic collection of 'cun' shoes but cannot afford to pay for their house mortgage or something.

Another spoiler; The Chinese crew at Chinatown had so much difficulty to dance when the water pipe broke,acting like water is some sort of bad omen or something.Also,showing some chinese apeks [uncles] betting on American hiphop battles, did not help in enforcing the image of Chinatown.In fact, it made things worse.

Wait till you reach the final battle,you'll cry for your loss of 20 bucks including the cun popcorn combo.

Verdict is pretty simple; annoyingly typical plot that lacks the 'oomph' factor and also amazingly fake visual effects.

There you go! *takes deep breath*

Oh sorry I forgot to warn you guys about the spoilers.NGEEKKK too late for that! Now I have successfully convinced you not to watch it.HAHAAAA

Hadi: Malaysia Hospitality 2

There's an unwritten rule in Malaysia that says "If you own a car, you own the world."

Most Malaysians have no respect towards pedestrians. They assume that they move around in four wheels instead of two legs, they have the power of the Gods. In foreign countries (such as Singapore whom we envy so) they would stop for pedestrians and let them have the respect as they took the trouble of actually walking.

Pedestrians too, are not aware of the respect they should get. They too, automatically give respect to those with cars.

Most Malaysian drivers just do not care for pedestrians. We are impatient, rude and aggressive beings. Can this be changed? Let's hope so.

I hate to see the star and the crescent moon on the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) turns into the Mercedez emblem.

Have You Missed Someone?

Rascal Flatts is a well known country band that sings songs about real life and people and once related to them. As I was browsing YouTube, I came across with Here Comes Goodbye because I was curious like how the video looks like.

When I heard the old man says "sometimes life just seems the chapter of goodbye", I felt goosebumps all over me and tears shed from my eyes. Overall, the video is about a mother who was once pregnant but never got the chance to tell her boyfriend because he died in a car accident. Soon enough, her son died at the age of four and the old man in the video is his grandfather.

I kinda shed my tears down because this song reminds me of my grandma that just passed away four days after I sat PR exam. She meant a lot to me.

So people, cherish the people you love beforehand.

let me be the first one to update about what our group found today.. the media intrusion ad placement..
it is about the funeral home ad, placing at the subway station in Berlin. opposite the platform..
it written there "Come a little closer" and makes people wonder and if they try to look closer, they might fall down on the railway and oops, need their service already, so our group picked that as it is media intrusive. actually i will still be confused with this thing.. as miss said, the difference between adv, media, PR, event and so forth are all at the very thin line.. hopefully by the end of semester, we all can get it clear kie! =)

Hadi: Malaysian Hospitality 1

The reason the title is "Malaysian Hospitality 1" is because there will be a whole lot more of my post concerning Malaysian Hospitality.

Let me just give you a scenario all right? Loosely based on a true story.

Mat (Not a real name) went to a restaurant. A high-class one, if you will. When Mat first entered the restaurant the waiter that guided him to his table didn't even smile nor say anything more than two words. To be fair, Mat does look unpleasant with his long hair, shorts and sandals.

The waiter didn't really welcome Mat and Mat swore he heard the waiter sighed while Mat was thinking on what to order. After Mat made his order, the waiter went away.

After a few minutes, a foreign man, Caucasian, entered the restaurant. Whithin a second the waiter sparked with joy and greeted the man "Good Morning, Sir! Table for one?"

The moral of the story is this:

Foreigners, please visit Malaysia. In this country, we treat you better than our own people.

Kaum Cina Mari Perkukuhkan Gagasan 1 Malaysia

Hello semua,saya tertarik apabila terbaca post daripada Su Ann tentang Malaysian Chinese dan saya rasa terpanggil untuk memberi respon terhadap post itu.Benar ramai yang tertanya-tanya apa lagi yang orang cina mahukan,ini bukan satu kenyataan yang bersifat perkauman tetapi hanya kebingungan yang melanda apabila kerajaan BN tidak mendapat majoriti 2/3 didalam pilihanraya baru-baru ini,diantara sebab utamanya adalah kerana tidak mendapat sokongan orang cina.

Ini tidak berlaku di zaman pemerintahan Dr.Mahathir,kerana sikap beliau yang tegas membuatkan semua orang,termasuk kaum melayu,cina dan india bahkan Raja-Raja Melayu juga hormat pada Dr.M.Semuanya bermula apabila Pak Lah dan mengambil tampuk kepimpinan negara dan diteruskan oleh Datuk Seri Najib,diwaktu itu Malaysia dilihat berada didalam zaman kegelapannya.Dizaman itu orang cina telah membuat beberapa permintaan yang besar yang juga telah menakutkan orang Melayu dan kaum lain.

Orang cina telah membuat permintaan yang pertamanya,supaya kerajaan membuka sepenuhnya kolej-kolej matrikulasi kepada orang bukan melayu ,yang ke-dua sistem biasiswa juga dibuka penuh kepada orang bukan melayu,yang ketiga kemasukkan pelajar di universiti dan kolej tidak perlulah mengikut kuota,yang ke-empat tanah di Kg.Baru dibuka kepada orang Cina untuk pembangunan,yang ke-lima MCA desak penambahan kerusi cina didalam Kabinet dan permintaan yang ke-enam yang paling menakutkan kaum lain adalah,untuk melantik seorang orang Cina sebagai Timbalan Presiden Barisan Nasional.

Semua orang sedia maklum sesiapa yang menjadi Timbalan Presiden BN tentunya secara automatik akan dilantik menjadi Timbalan Perdana Menteri,ini telah memberi gambaran apa agenda sebenar mereka.Permintaan mengenai pertambahan kaum cina kedalam Kabinet dilihat melampau kerana semasa itu Kabinet Malaysia mengandungi 6 orang menteri penuh berbangsa Cina dan 13 orang Timbalan Menteri berbangsa Cina.

Bagi Biasiswa dan kuota kemasukkan Universiti pula ianya sudah termaktub didalam perlembagaan negara dan didalam Hak-Hak Istimewa Orang Melayu yang telah dipersetujui sebelum Merdeka oleh semua kaum.Semestinya permintaan untuk membuka tanah di Kg.Baru menunjukkan rasa tidak hormat kepada Raja-Raja Melayu kerana tanah itu dianugerahkan kepada orang Melayu oleh Raja-Raja sejak berpuluh tahun yang lalu.

Terbaru di Penang,Ketua Menteri Lim Guan Eng didalam Majlis Pelancaran 'Governor Of Penang' And 'Peranakan Penang' Exhibition' telah sekali lagi membangkitkan rasa tidak puas hati kaum lain apabila mengumumkan bahawa rakyat asal atau penduduk asal negeri Pulau Pinang adalah kaum Peranakan dan bukan Melayu,semua orang sedia maklum dan sedar didalam sejarah bahawa pembukaan pulau pinang dan penduduk asal adalah orang Melayu.

Ini adalah satu usaha untuk melenyapkan orang Melayu di Pulau Pinang seperti mana yang dilakukan di Singapura.Di Muzium sejarah Singapura kini tidak lagi menonjolkan orang melayu,sejarah Singapura telah diubah oleh pemerintah sekarang.Kata mereka Singapura telah dibuka dan penduduk asal adalah orang peranakan,kenyataan ini semestinya tidak benar kerana semua sedar dan maklum bahawa pembukaan Singapura atau Temasik adalah atas usaha,Sang Lela Setia dan Temagi iaitu tuleh darah Melayu.

Didalam Persidangan Parlimen tahun lepas seorang timbalan Mentri MCA telah bangun dan menyatakan penduduk asal Malaysia bukanlah Melayu dan telah membuat kenyataan bahawa Melayu juga pendatang didalam negara ini,ini telah membangkitkan rasa tidak puas hati dikalangan MP-MP melayu juga mengugat kedudukan kaum Melayu.

Walaupun begitu kerajaan masih sayang akan kaum cina,berbagai kemudahan dan peruntukan kerajaan salurkan demi kepentingan kaum cina.Di Sibu,didalam satu Majlis di sebuah Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina,Dato Seri Najib telah mengumumkan peruntukan Rm8 Juta untuk sekolah itu,hanya untuk sebuah sekolah Cina,pada ke-esokkannya di Kuala Lumpur di sebuah Sekolah Melayu,Dato Seri Najib mengumumkan peruntukan sebanyak Rm100 ribu kepada sekolah itu.Perbezaan peruntukan ini jelas mencerminkan betapa kerajaan begitu mengambil berat terhadap kaum Cina,sehingga mengetepikan kaum lain.

Jika Kerajaan,Kaum Melayu dan India boleh mengetepikan soal perkauman dan kuasa,apa salahnya jika kaum cina juga berbuat demikian.Ketepikan soal-soal ini demi kepentingan negara dan anak cucu kita,sesungguhnya perjuangan kita masih belum selesai.Kaum Melayu,Cina dan India mestilah bergerak sebagai satu suara demi mempertahankan kedaulatan negara kita.Jika kita asyik bertelagah sesama sendiri negara lain akan mengambil kesempatan terhadap kelemahan negara ini,sama dengan sejarah kejatuhan Kota Melaka dahulu.Semua kaum haruslah berkompromi dan mengamalkan sikap 1 Malaysia yang telah diinspirasikan oleh Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang pastinya dapat menjamin keharmonian negara ini.

Timbalan setiausaha agung MCA menggesa Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak mewujudkan jawatan timbalan perdana menteri dan timbalan pengerusi BN untuk diisi presidennya bagi mencermin “perkongsian kuasa sebenar”.

“Rakyat Malaysia pelbagai kaum telah lama menerima dan memberi sokongan penuh kepada ideologi pentadbrain berasaskan kepada perkongsian kuasa di negara ini.

“Bagaimanapun, selepas 52 tahun merdeka, kita terus merasakan bahawa perkongsian kuasa itu hanya satu slogan dan tidak mencermin situasi sebenar, yang kita amat harapkan menjadi kenyataan pada suatu hari nanti.

“Oleh itu, rakyat Malaysia kini kecewa dan tidak puas hati dengan situasi sebenar kita sekarang kerana ia hanyalah satu cakap kosong,” kata Datuk Loke Yuen Yow.

Menurutnya lagi, jawatan kedua timbalan perdana menteri untuk presiden MCA bukan sahaja membantu merealisasikan konsep perkongsian kuasa, tetapi juga menunjukkan bahawa kerajaan memberi kepentingan kepada peranan dan sumbangan kaum Cina dalam proses pembinaan negara.

Loke menambah, jika diberi jawatan seperti dituntut, presiden MCA boleh, dalam kapasitinya sebagai anggota kabinet, membantu menggariskan dasar yang lebih adi dan berfaedah kepada semua pihak, terutama masyarakat Cina dalam ekonomi dan pendidikan.

Beliau juga menegaskan bahawa MCA telah mewakili perjuangan masyarakat Cina, untuk mencapai kemerdekaan negara, bersama Umno dan MIC pada 1957.

“Oleh itu, dalam proses pembinaan negara, sumbangan yang dihulurkan oleh MCA dan masyarakat Cina adalah amat banyak dan sangat besar,” tambahnya.

Pada masa yang sama, Loke mengulangi lagi desakan awal MCA bahawa presidennya mesti dilantik sebagai timbalan pengerusi Dewan Tertinggi BN.

“(Pelantikan) ini akan memanifestasikan senario sebenar perkongsian kuasa bawah pentadbiran Datuk Seri Najib,” tambahnya.

“Sebagai seorang pemimpin yang bijak dan berpandangan jauh, Datuk Seri Najib perlu melihat peri pentingnya dan keperluan mewujudkan jawatan-jawatan timbalan perdana menteri Cina dan timbalan pengerusi Dewan Tertinggi BN – yang kedua-duanya dipegang oleh presiden MCA.”

Hadi Likes 'Rojak'

Hello.

It's been a long time since I've been here because I've been busy lately... Okay, that's a lie.

Now, I've read some books that are quite heavy like 'Satanic Verses' by Salman Rushdie (You might be wondering how I got this book though it was banned. My brother found it in a second-hand bookstore) but this book is too heavy and, honestly, I couldn't understand shiit(ake mushrooms). I'm not cursing, it's a name of a Japanese food.

BUT, I have found a "bite-size" book that truly is interesting. It's called 'Rojak' by Amir Mohamad. This book really is the shi(h tzu)! It's a compilation of many short stories in one book.

The stories in this book truly captures the essence of every Malaysians. Our lifestyles, our slangs, our music, our food, everything.

When I recommended this book to some of my friends, they'd say "I don't read, man." The thing is, this book is very light, its contents and its actual physical weight. Every short stories is no more than two pages. Also, the language that Amir Mohamad used in this book is really, really Malaysian-like and simple.

I wouldn't say Amir Mohamad is a genius. I wouldn't say that this is the best book Malaysia have ever produced. But 'Rojak' truly is a book that is just so... tasty.

Trust me, this post is no bullshit(surakuen).

Mom admits running washer with kid inside

FUKUOKA (Kyodo) A 34-year-old woman under arrest for allegedly killing her 5-year-old daughter in Fukuoka Prefecture has told investigators she confined the girl in a washing machine and turned it on as a way of disciplining her, investigative sources said Wednesday.

The suspect, Junko Egashira, who was arrested June 30 on suspicion of strangling her daughter, Mone, at their home in Kurume on June 27, said she put her daughter in a washing machine three times in June after covering her mouth with adhesive tape and tying her hands and legs.

Egashira told the investigators she also taped the machine's lid so the girl couldn't get out, and left her in it for two or three hours. She also admitted that she ran the water inside the machine and set it to start spinning, although she may not have done so in all three cases, the sources said.

Fukuoka police suspect that Egashira's abusive behavior escalated and led to the murder.

What in the world is the mother thinking? Running a kid in a washing machine is a way of disciplining her? Poor kid.

Pearl Carter is positively glowing with joy. She has a handsome new boyfriend, is enjoying an active sex life after many years of celibacy and, amazingly, is preparing to become a mother again.

But the retired grandmother isn't carrying the baby herself. She and her young lover have spent a staggering $54,000 hiring a surrogate to help them with their dreams of having a child.

What makes Pearl's decision to become a mum again even more shocking is that her new boyfriend is her biological grandson, 26-year-old Phil Bailey.

Phil is the son of Pearl's daughter Lynette Bailey, and the pair is braving public horror and even prison by breaking one of the last taboos – incest.

However, the pair makes no apologies for their controversial plan to start their own family.

'I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion,' Pearl says. 'I am in love with Phil and he's in love with me. Soon I'll be holding my son or daughter in my arms and Phil will be the proud dad'.

Phil adds, 'I love Pearl with all my heart. I've always been attracted to older women and I think Pearl is gorgeous. Now I'm going to be a dad and I can't wait.

'Yes, we get laughed at and bullied when we go out and kiss in public but we don't care. You can't help who you fall for.'

Pearl was 18 when she fell pregnant with daughter Lynette. She was living with her Catholic parents in Indiana and they insisted she give the baby away, so as not to bring the family into disrepute.

They organised a private adoption and Pearl never again saw her baby girl.

Pearl went on to marry, but she never had any more children. Instead she searched for her lost daughter until finally giving up hope 15 years ago.

Finding each other

In 1983, Pearl's daughter Lynette had a baby of her own, who she named Phil. She raised him as a single mother.

'My mother told me she was adopted when I was 18, and at the same time she told me she'd been diagnosed with brain cancer,' Phil says. 'I was devastated.'

Phil nursed his mum for six months before she died. It was then he decided to track down his grandmother. It took three years before he found an address for Pearl and wrote to her.

'I was stunned to get his letter,' says Pearl, who was now single. 'My heart jumped that I'd be re-united with a grandson. I wrote back immediately and included my phone number.'

When Phil phoned Pearl, the pair admits they were both rather nervous. Pearl told Phil about being forced to give up Lynette for adoption, and Phil told Pearl about his mum dying of cancer.

'We both cried but kept talking for three hours,' she says. 'When he emailed me a photo, I thought what a handsome and sexy man he was before pinching myself – he was my grandson!'

Confused, Pearl talked to a friend, who told her about an article she'd read on Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA), which occurs when close relatives meet as adults and are attracted to each other.

'I could now understand my feelings and realise they weren't wrong,' Pearl says.

In 2006, Phil met his grandmother for the first time.

'From the first moment that I saw him, I knew we would never have a grandmother-grandson relationship,' Pearl remembers happily. 'For the first time in years I felt sexually alive.'

Phil admits that he had the same feelings towards Pearl.

'I wanted to kiss her there and then,' he says. 'My feelings were overwhelming.'

The pair spent the first week shopping, bowling and eating out. During the second week, giggly on wine after a night out, Pearl decided she wasn't going to deny her feelings anymore.

Unexpected feelings

'I called Phil into my bedroom, sat him on the bed, and then I leant over and kissed him,' Pearl says.

'I expected rejection but instead he kissed me back.'

Pearl then explained to Phil what she'd discovered about GSA.

'I was thrilled and excited,' Phil says. 'I could be with Pearl and it was OK because she'd never raised me or been in my life.'

That night, grandmother and grandson became lovers.

'Making love to Pearl was a real eye-opener. It was love combined with all this sexual tension that had been building up,' Phil openly explains.

Phil, a carpenter, agreed to live with Pearl and get a job with a local building firm.

'Living with Phil as my life partner has been amazing. He cooks and cleans and we make love three times a week. We can't keep our hands off each other.'

Twelve months ago, Phil made the shocking admission that he wanted a child. Pearl told him she was desperate for a baby as well, but it was one wish that she couldn't fulfil as she'd already gone through menopause.

The determined pair then decided to use Pearl's retirement money to find a surrogate mother and buy a donor egg to inseminate with Phil's sperm. They placed an ad asking for an open-minded surrogate, and Roxanne Campbell applied. The three met up a few times and hit it off.

'Initially I was shocked,' says Roxanne on learning the couple were related. 'But they're a brilliant pair and I saw how much they loved each other. I know the baby will be loved too.'

The couple sees 30-year-old Roxanne once a month and accompany her for scans, with Pearl playing the part of a pal or the baby's grandmother.

'I am just so happy,' Pearl says.

'I am finally going to be a mum and not forced to give up my child. Phil's going to be a great dad. I never in a million years thought at 72 I'd be "pregnant" and in love with my grandson. I make no apologies and I believe God's given me a second chance.'

When I was in Form One, a class-mate asked me "Engkau ni bodoh ke, bangang ke atau bahlul" ? . That's when I learnt that there are 3 categories of stupidity. I forgot all about it untill this week - when I suddenly remembered that question again. It was triggered by 3 pieces of news, all about spending money on unessential projects, splashed all over newspapers.

News 1
Government's plan to build a new Parliament House in Putrajaya at a cost of RM800 million.

News 2
Cost of building the new palace escalates to RM811 million.

News 3
Minister Datuk Nazri Abd Aziz says "government hasn't got enough money to provide our students with scholarships".

Bodoh, bangang or bahlul? If you spend RM1.6 billion on building a new Parliament House and a new palace, you of course won't have money to provide scholarship for our students. Many have already questioned the need for a new Parliament House. The country already has many palaces, many of them hardly used. So people wonder how does the idea of "rakyat didahulukan" fit in here.
Note
RM1.6 billion can finance the entire university education for at least 40,000 students or be used to build at least 40,000 low-cost houses for the poor rakyat.

So think about this, which category do we fit in : bodoh, bangang or bahlul?
Hello Malaysians, in future, think carefully before you cast your valuable votes because the 50 odd years old corrupted govt believes we are bodoh, bangang or bahlul.

WHAT else do Chinese Malaysians want? Let us put aside the reasons why they do not support the current government in Kuala Lumpur. Let us study first what else they want.
For that, we have to go back to history. The Chinese came to Malaya to seek opportunities. They had lived a hard life in mainland China for hundreds of years. Like the whites who migrated to the American continent because it was the land of opportunity, the Chinese migrated to Malaya to make their fortunes in this bountiful land.
The strategy of their forebears has borne fruit. The Chinese have attained what they wanted. They now live in the lap of luxury in this land of opportunity called Malaysia.
In fact, it is not only in Malaysia that they have attained what they wanted. They have even gained full control of Singapore. Singapore is not their original country. The Singapore Chinese and the Malaysian Chinese were originally boat people. The difference is that those who landed in Singapore managed to gain full control of Singapore, but those who landed in Malaysia did not manage to control Malaysia.
In Malaysia, the Chinese live in peace with the Malays, the indigenous people and the Indians. In comparison, in Singapore, the Chinese control politics and the Government. In Malaysia, the Malays still control politics and the government. The systems of both governments are the same, but it is vice versa: The Malays dominate in Malaysia while the Chinese dominate across the Causeway.
In contrast, the Malays in Singapore and the Chinese in Malaysia are very different. The Malays in Singapore lead ordinary lives while the Chinese in Malaysia lead lives that are ‘more than ordinary’.
In fact, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad once stated that if all the Chinese-owned buildings in Kuala Lumpur were lifted from the map, only the buildings in Kampung Baru, a Malay area, would remain in the city.

All the other buildings are owned by Chinese Malaysians. The well-known shopping centres in Malaysia are owned by the Chinese.

The Chinese Malaysians are fantastic. They control all the cities and major towns in peninsular Malaysia, as well as Sabah and Sarawak. They produce the largest number of, and the most successful, professionals. The school system of the Chinese Malaysians is the best among similar school systems in the world.

The Chinese account for most of the students studying in the best private colleges in Malaysia. The Malays can gain admission into only government-owned colleges of ordinary reputation.

With regard to corporate and private organisations, it is the Chinese who dominate. The Malays number just a few; most of them are low-level employees. In fact, knowing Mandarin is a prerequisite for applying for jobs in these organisations.

Finally, an annual survey by the Malaysian Business magazine has found that eight of the 10 richest people in Malaysia are Chinese. The following is the list of the 10 richest people in Malaysia:

This is the reality in Malaysia, my beloved country. Is the current government, which has been in power for 52 years, cruel and totalitarian? What else do the Chinese Malaysians want? I think I know, and I think you know too.

Thuan Chye Responds to “Orang Cina Malaysia, apa lagi yang anda mahu?”(Utusan Malaysia article)

Every time the Barisan Nasional gets less than the expected support from Chinese voters at an election, the question invariably pops up among the petty-minded: Why are the Chinese ungrateful?
So now, after the Hulu Selangor by-election, it’s not surprising to read in Utusan Malaysia a piece that asks: “Orang Cina Malaysia, apa lagi yang anda mahu?” (trans. Chinese of Malaysia, what more do you want?)
Normally, something intentionally provocative and propagandistic as this doesn’t deserve to be honoured with a reply. But even though I’m fed up with such disruptive and ethnocentric polemics, this time I feel obliged to reply – partly because the article has also been published, in an English translation, in the Straits Times of Singapore.
I wish to emphasise here that I am replying not as a Chinese Malaysian but, simply, as a Malaysian. Let me say at the outset that the Chinese have got nothing more than what any citizen should get. So to ask “what more” it is they want, is misguided. A correct question would be, “What do the Chinese want?”
All our lives, we Chinese have held to the belief that no one owes us a living. We have to work for it. Most of us have got where we are by the sweat of our brow, not by handouts or the policies of the government.
We have come to expect nothing – not awards, not accolades, not gifts from official sources. (Let’s not lump in Datukships, that’s a different ball game.) We know that no Chinese who writes in the Chinese language will ever be bestowed the title of Sasterawan Negara, unlike in Singapore where the literatures of all the main language streams are recognised and honoured with the Cultural Medallion, etc.
We have learned we can’t expect the government to grant us scholarships. Some will get those, but countless others won’t. We’ve learned to live with that and to work extra hard in order to support our children to attain higher education – because education is very important to us. We experience a lot of daily pressure to achieve that. Unfortunately, not many non-Chinese realise or understand that. In fact, many Chinese had no choice but to emigrate for the sake of their children’s further education. Or to accept scholarships from abroad, many from Singapore, which has inevitably led to a brain drain.
The writer of the Utusan article says the Chinese “account for most of the students” enrolled in “the best private colleges in Malaysia”. Even so, the Chinese still have to pay a lot of money to have their children study in these colleges. And to earn that money, the parents have to work very hard. The money does not fall from the sky.
The writer goes on to add: “The Malays can gain admission into only government-owned colleges of ordinary reputation.” That is utter nonsense. Some of these colleges are meant for the cream of the Malay crop of students and are endowed with the best facilities. They are given elite treatment.
The writer also fails to acknowledge that the Chinese are barred from being admitted to some of these colleges. As a result, the Chinese are forced to pay more money to go to private colleges. Furthermore, the Malays are also welcome to enrol in the private colleges, and many of them do. It’s, after all, a free enterprise.
Plain and simple reason
The writer claims that the Chinese live “in the lap of luxury” and lead lives that are “more than ordinary” whereas the Malays in Singapore, their minority-race counterparts there, lead “ordinary lives”. Such sweeping statements sound inane especially when they are not backed up by definitions of “lap of luxury” and “ordinary lives”. They sound hysterical, if not hilarious as well, when they are not backed up by evidence. It’s surprising that a national daily like Utusan Malaysia would publish something as idiosyncratic as that. And the Straits Times too.
The writer quotes from a survey that said eight of the 10 richest people in Malaysia are Chinese. Well, if these people are where they are, it must have also come from hard work and prudent business sense. Is that something to be faulted?
If the writer had said that some of them achieved greater wealth through being given crony privileges and lucrative contracts by the government, there might be a point, but even then, it would still take hard work and business acumen to secure success. Certainly, Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, who is one of the 10, would take exception if it were said that he has not worked hard and lacks business savvy.
Most important, it should be noted that the eight Chinese tycoons mentioned in the survey represent but a minuscule percentage of the wider Chinese Malaysian population. To extrapolate that because eight Chinese are filthy rich, the rest of the Chinese must therefore live in the lap of luxury and lead more than ordinary lives would be a mockery of the truth. The writer has obviously not met the vast numbers of very poor Chinese.
The crux of the writer’s article is that the Chinese are not grateful to the government by not voting for Barisan Nasional at the Hulu Selangor by-election. But this demonstrates the thinking of either a simple mind or a closed one.
Why did the Chinese by and large not vote for BN? Because it’s corrupt. Plain and simple. Let’s call a spade a spade. And BN showed how corrupt it was during the campaign by throwing bribes to the electorate, including baiting a Chinese school in Rasa by promising RM3 million should it win the by-election.
The Chinese were not alone in seeing this corruption. The figures are unofficial but one could assume that at least 40 per cent of Malays and 45 per cent of Indians who voted against BN in that by-election also had their eyes open. So, what’s wrong with not supporting a government that is corrupt? If the government is corrupt, do we continue to support it?
To answer the question then, what do the Chinese want?
They want a government…
a. that is not corrupt;
b. that can govern well and proves to have done so;
c. that tells the truth rather than lies;
d. that follows the rule of law;
e. that upholds rather than abuses the country’s sacred institutions.
Because BN does not fit that description, the Chinese have learned not to vote for it. This is not what only the Chinese want. It is something every sensible Malaysian, regardless of race, wants. Is that something that is too difficult to understand?
Some people think that the government is to be equated with the country, and therefore if someone does not support the government, they are being disloyal to the country. This is a complete fallacy. BN is not Malaysia. It is merely a political coalition that is the government of the day. Rejecting BN is not rejecting the country.
A sense of belonging
Let’s be clear about this important distinction. In America, the people sometimes vote for the Democrats and sometimes for the Republicans. Voting against the one that is in government at the time is not considered disloyalty to the country.
By the same token, voting against UMNO is also voting against a party, not against a race. And if the Chinese or whoever criticise UMNO, they are criticising the party; they are not criticising Malays. It just happens that UMNO’s leaders are Malay.
It is time all Malaysians realised this so that we can once and for all dispel the confusion. Let us no longer confuse country with government. We can love our country and at the same time hate the government. It is perfectly all right.
I should add here what the Chinese don’t want:
a. We don’t want to be insulted,
b. We don’t want to be called pendatang
c. We don’t want to be told to be grateful for our citizenship.
We have been loyal citizens; we duly and dutifully pay taxes; we respect the country’s constitution and its institutions. Our forefathers came to this country many generations ago and helped it to prosper. We are continuing to contribute to the country’s growth and development.
Would anyone like to be disparaged, made to feel unwelcome or unwanted? For the benefit of the writer of the Utusan article, what MCA president Chua Soi Lek means when he says the MCA needs to be more vocal is that it needs to speak up whenever the Chinese community is disparaged. For too long, the MCA has not spoken up strongly enough when UMNO politicians and associates like Ahmad Ismail, Nasir Safar, Ahmad Noh and others before them insulted the Chinese and made them feel like they don’t belong. That’s why the Chinese have largely rejected the MCA.
You see, the Chinese, like all human beings, want self-respect. And a sense of belonging in this country they call home. That is all the Chinese want, and have always wanted. Nothing more.

its getting more and more people joining facebook, even primary schools children start joining too.
so, what do you think about this social networking site? is it good? or bad?
well, it is subjective of cuz, but today i wanna discuss about one of the negative view of facebook that are quite serious in influencing teenagers nowadays.

this thought came after i have watched a few videos posted up on facebook. i have seen a video on facebook before which it is about a girl was tied on a bed, naked. then there were two guys, one was holding the saw, and another guy was... i guess raping the girl. and the guy who was holding the saw, literally cutting the ankle of the girl.. and i dunno what happened after that. because i couldnt stand it because it is SOOOOOOO violence!! and after that i wanted to find back the video but it had been removed by facebook.

then two days back, i watched the video of primary skul students kissed in the class.. the next morning, in the class, one of my classmate accidentally saw the video of a guy and a girl, making out at the staircase in a shopping complex.. gosh.. it was.. i dunno how to comment. and! at night, i saw another video where my friend posted up on facebook, about a guy got caught stealing his hostel-mate's phone, hair were shaved by the people who caught him, unevenly, and forced him to mas***bate! GOSH.. it was gross.. i really dunno how to say...

i did not watch all these on purpose, but hey, everyone is sharing these kind of videos on facebook! everyone can watch.. curiosity, u know?
what am i trying to say here is, with facebook, people is now intentionally record down every "special" thing they bumped into and post them up.. i bet alot of people try to make out at the staircase at some random place, i guess last time, if anyone happen to bump into such thing, they will go off quietly, but what happen now is, ppl record down! omg.. of cuz the victims are at fault too, why not just get a room and settle it? doing such thing in the public is more exciting meh? =.=.. all these becoming invasion of privacy, and the boy stealing case, is actually a very serious case, i guess it is like threatening already..

and also! having all these video on facebook, EVEN THOUGH it will be removed after few hours, but, in that few hours, how many ppl have viewed? have watched? and shared? some even can dl the video.. can u see the impact? especially when teenager even primary school students own facebook acc.. what will happen when they actually view it? it is seriously some very bad example and bad influence to them. they might know that this is wrong but hey, out of curiosity, who can guarantee that they wont have the urge of trying these things out?

if not, then why would there be so many cases about premarital sex, baby abandoned in the toilet so on so on?

the social networking site become a platform for ppl to share things like that, if they dun take this into account and improve from there, i really dun dare to imagine what our society will be in the next 10 years..
everyone making out at everywhere? lol... perhaps....

Has anyone heard about the BP station incident?

Well, I heard it goes a little something like this.., there was a car crash including a MyVi car. A malay girl was stuck in the car and a man from outside saw a spark igniting. Therefore, like the good citizen he was, he decided he had to do something about it and he ran to the nearest BP station around 500 meters away to get a fire extinguisher. Upon reaching the station, the two workers did not allow him to take the extinguishers, even after he said he would leave his I.C. with them and he would be back. Therefore, after trying everything he could, they still did not allow it because according to them, the management does not allow it and if they lose one tank of it, it will cost them a lot. This angered the helpless man, so he rushed back to the scene upon cursing the workers and realized the police and fire department officials were there already. The poor girl was burning alive and he could hear her helpless screams. The man was so disappointed and angered by the workers actions that he planned to boycott BP stations anywhere.

taxi driver - rapist?!!

this case was reported since few days ago. i think i want to bring this topic up.
i knew about this case thru China Press because it have been for the front page since it was reported until today it still is.

it is about a taxi driver, turn into a rapist and he hunt for girls from the same school. when he raped those girls, he had a partner who would record down the process to threaten the girls for further deals.

personally think that the star din really focus on this case where China Press have reported about this news for almost 3 pages today. there was a girl came up and said that the rapist taxi driver raped her 4 years ago and she is now married and pregnant.

even though he is a rapist, which he is supposed to be hated by everyone for his doings. however, one of the victims actually said that she is relieved when she was told that the taxi driver will not be sentenced to death or stripe.

and also theres a girl said that he is a nice guy, its just that he is a lil pervert.

why izzit a rapist can have people so concern about him? what he actually did to make those girls sided him? the influence of psychology maybe?

the star is going green too!

The Star launches its Go Green campaign

PETALING JAYA: Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad is taking initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint.

Group managing director and chief executive officer Datin Linda Ngiam said while The Star had always promoted "go green" messages, it was now time for its staff to put this into practice.

"We decided to walk the talk and start encouraging staff to take six simple steps to reduce our carbon footprint," she said in her speech at the launch of The Star's Go Green campaign here Friday.

The steps include switching off lights, air-conditioners and computers when they are not in use, driving less, reducing usage of water and plastic items, and using the stairs instead of lifts.

"This campaign will go on for a year to change the mindset of our staff. Our target is to reduce our water and electricity usage by 10%, by Earth Day (April 22) next year," she said.

Ngiam said seven volunteer eco-wardens would remind their colleagues to conserve electricity.

"We are trying to put at least one warden on each floor to ensure electricity is not wasted," she added.

She encouraged other companies to initiate similar moves.

"We also hope to hear from those who have already started their 'go green' campaign so we can learn and improve," she said.

this was actually the news on 4th of June. it is about the star, the local newspaper has launched their go green campaign as their effort to save the environment.

in this news it says that The Star also hoped that other companies to start going green as well. Actually this is a very good move because when they took the initiative to start, i guess other companies will follow too. Monkey see monkey do theory applied.. haha..

Besides companies, i think us, the individual can also give a hand by switching off the electric when we are not using them. "use only what u need", always remember this can motivates u to save the usage of electric, water and so on.. Remember that, u save the electric; it is directly save the money of ur parents who are paying all the BILLS.

we have the responsibility to save the environment. Let’s start doing something. It’s our mother earth.. =)

These people are bringing aid to people in Gaza. Unarmed. And the comments made by the Israeli military...... "these people were hitting us with a stick".

Ridiculous? You tell me.

Students I want you to observe on what is happening. Since the day the attack had happened nearly all news agencies throughout the world only inform the news about the attack for 3 minutes. Not only that in the website they only post up the stories just a liner or just an image of it. It seems that UK police found body in England is much more important than human rights and 10 people killed!!! Talk about western policy. Ouch!!

What I am seeing is this. World news agencies are behaving like some Malaysian news agency. As I inserted in my twitter page yesterday "CNN, partially BBC are becoming like some of the news agencies at home. This is your moment to shine Utusan. =p." Sarcastic? Not really. Just stating a fact.

Now I am not putting the blame game here. I am trying to understand the situation. I cant put the blame game in this blog at all. Because if Prophet Muhammad can find a way to make the Jews work together with the Muslims, Christians and etc why can't we in a world of vast improvement of technology and an intellectual society work together? Ego? Power? I have no idea.

So take a moment to read up about this issue and understand it. It happened a long time ago and it happened again. If we don't take this opportunity to learn on what is happening right now you are missing part of history and part of future. What makes human being so clueless and make mistakes is because they do not learn from mistakes.

For now what I can say is this. When you don't have money, power, knowledge, resilient and anything that belongs into this category. Forget about fighting back.

So my class mates at INTI, study this issue. Why is news agencies not covering the stories with full length? Why are news agencies being very protective? Remember why, what, where, who, when and how?

Thats all from me. And please folks by now you should be posting this story up online. This is a very important lesson for all of us.

Video Game Fanatic Hunts Down and Stabs Rival Player

A French video game fanatic hunted down and stabbed a rival player who had killed his character in an online war game.

Julien Barreaux, 20, told police he wanted to see his rival player "wiped out" after his character in the game Counter-Strike died in a virtual knife fight.

A court in Cambrai, northern France, heard how Barreaux plotted revenge for seven months after the online "killing" last November.

He then located the victim, named only as Mikhael, several miles from his home.
When the man answered the door, he plunged a kitchen knife into his chest, missing his heart by less than an inch, a police officer told the court.
He added: "Barreaux was arrested within the hour and told us he had wanted to see his rival wiped out for killing off his character."
Barreaux was jailed for two years for causing grievous bodily harm, and ordered to undergo psychiatric tests and anger management therapy.
Judge Alexiane Potel told him: "You are a menace to society. I am frankly terrified of the disproportionate reaction you could have if someone looked at you the wrong way in the street."

Youth '10

Malaysia is having another largest youth festival and that is called Youth '10. Happens three days only from May 28th-30th May 2010. Since today's Friday and the first day of this event was amazing. So lemme tell you a little bit about what was going on at there.

So at the Discovery Festival, there were like a lot of creative games and art exhibitions/booths going on and one of my favorite booths was the Juxta booth. Known as Azeem, ex-UiTM student who used to study architecture three years ago is in love with art and at his booth, there were so many pastel and oil drawings from hard boards to stones and also a very classic walkman.

Besides that, it has Youth Photographer of 2010. Just pay RM2 and you can stand a chance to win RM500 if you pose and post the best picture of yourself to Xtra! :)

Back at Shopping Festival ~ there are so many booths from clothes to shoes to books to accessories and so on! You can bargain and prices can be negotiated. If you know how to deal with the sellers, you might just get as well good price from RM40 to RM20!

At the sport section, they provide such games like foosball, futsal and basketball too.I didn't much pay attention on that section because it wasn't my favorite spot.

Italy Launches Foetus in Cocktail Glass Poster to Stop Women from Drinking

We are doing Advertising for this semester, right? I just want to show you guys a new campaign being launched in Italy. For me, it's kinda weird or maybe even disgusting for some. The advertising campaign carries the message "When mom drinks, baby drinks too". Basically it is a health warning by the government to prevent women from drinking. Have a look at this poster:

It actually shows a foetus in a curled up position in the bottom of the glass. Is this simply creativity or what? I find it kinda lack of humanism though, to put a foetus in that position. But I am not the only one saying that because the governor of the Veneto region ( where the campaign is being carried out ) critics the poster by saying that it portrays a distorted image of women and in particularly expecting mother. To all metalheads, once again I'm telling you another death story but this time from the world's famous metal band from Iowa. Slipknot's bassist was found dead in a hotel room at Town Plaza Hotel in Urbandale.

Paul Gray, 38 was found dead by the hotel employee, police said.

Gray, also known as The Pig and #2 in his band was the best bassist for the Award-winning metal band Slipknot. His death is still under investigation.

My brother was talking to my mum about this commercial that apparently was on the TV- if not mistaken before the Champions League Finals- I watched it and its pretty interesting and funny too. It's mainly about the 'what if'. What if they missed the goal? What if they managed to tackle the opponent to save the goal? What if the penalty kick was a success? It revolves around the players from different countries. And the commercial plays along Nike World Cup 2010 tagline... Write The Future.

I think this commercial is basically promoting the brand. Since it's much more of the image of the players with the brand and hardly on the product.

Personally, my favourite part of the commercial is Rooney's part. xD

Last few days miss Nalena let us to watch a tv ads(happy dent chewing gum) and it still fresh in my mind. Whenever i walk to a dark places,i really ask myself "how good if i have happy dent now..."

Does anyone remember the cartoon Sky Dancers or even the toys? Yes I do. And it was the most expensive toys in Singapore back in 1990s (besides Barbie and Hot Wheels). While I was youtubing ads for our Advertising class this Tuesday (well previous post, two of my classmates posted ads already), I wish I were in 1990s. I missed the moment I play Sky Dancers with my dad at the beach and the kids park. My brother and I used to have one each. Isn't that awesome? And below here is the video of Sky Dancers commercial:-

Robot Conduct Japanese Wedding

We all know that the technology nowadays is running berserk but to actually entrusting one's happiness to the technology, I guess Japan would be the first. Look at this news. I find it quite interesting :) The difference of culture and the different lifestyles in different countries sometimes really help in opening our eyes :D

The wedding took place at a restaurant in Hibiya Park in central Tokyo, where the I-Fairy, a four foot robot, wore a wreath of flowers and directed a rooftop ceremony. Wires led out from beneath it to a black curtain a few feet away, where a man crouched and clicked commands into a computer.

Japan has one of the most advanced robotics industries in the world, with the government actively supporting the field for future growth. Industrial models in factories are now standard, but recently Japanese companies are making a push to inject robots into everyday life.

Honda makes a walking child-shaped robot, and other firms have developed them to entertain the elderly or play baseball. Kokoro, whose corporate goal is to "touch the hearts of the people," also makes giant dinosaur robots for exhibitions and lifelike android models that can smile and laugh. The company is a subsidiary of Sanrio Co., which owns the rights to Hello Kitty and other Japanese characters.

"This was a lot of fun. I think that Japanese have a strong sense that robots are our friends. Those in the robot industry mostly understand this, but people mainly want robots near them that serve some purpose," said bride Satoko Inoue, 36, who works at manufacturer Kokoro, who made the robot.

"It would be nice if the robot was a bit more clever, but she is very good at expressing herself," said new husband Tomohiro Shibata, 42, a professor of robotics at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in central Japan.
The I-Fairy sells for about 6.3 million yen (£47,000) and three are in use in Singapore, the U.S. and Japan, according to company spokesman Kayako Kido.

To whom that love metal and underground music, they might have heard the latest news about Ronnie James (Ronald James Padavona). Padavona lose his battle with stomach cancer at the age of 67 yesterday (May 16 2010). Padavona, who was born on July 10 1942 was a songwriter and also a heavy metal vocalist for Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and his own band - Dio.

Apparently, Padavona made a comeback & collaborated with Black Sabbath under Heaven & Hell's moniker for their new album The Devil You Know which was released last year April 2009 and due to Padavona's health, the band had to cancel their tour across the Europe.

OMG!!! like seriously what is this??? she wants a baby when she is only 15?
ok that is not the major problem..

the problems are, first of all, she only thinks that the toys, the clothes and some of the stuff that is needed for an infant!
note: i assume whatever the girl is preparing for her baby is enough only at the stage of a baby and max till the stage of child (aged 3 to 5) only!
what about school fees? what about the money for the milk powder? what about the other expenses such as medical fees, insurance and so on???
i seriously wonder did she ever come across these problems that she has to overcome in the future?

and very important thing... will the baby accept the fact that his/her mother had sex with 15 guys, over 300 times UNPROTECTED-ly just to get him/her?? frankly speaking, if it was me, i really cannot accept...

i actually pity this girl... in the sense that, she somehow ruin her own life with her thinking... its like, am not saying that she is childish.. ok she somehow is.. because she never thought of the circumstances on what she did to get a baby.. and she definitely used the wrong and the WORST way to get a baby...

it is SO SO SO wrong that she had sex in the public.. having sex in the public increases the chances of having a baby? HELL NO! i bet it is either she and the guy have no money to get a room or they were just seeking excitement...-.-..

as a conclusion, i guess she have ZERO idea about the all responsibilities of being a mother!

Robin Hood - In My Opinion

So I watched the premiere of Robin Hood three hours ago with my MySpace friends. Truth to be told, I felt a little disappointed with the climax of the story. It is a hundred-forty-five minutes show but yet I can only feel Longstride's strength at the end of the story.

Robert Loxely, a knight and also Lady Marion's husband dies in the hand of Godfrey and Robert asks Robin to send back the sword that he used to take from his father when he was mad. Soon then, slowly the climax tells what happens in Nottingham and so on. Another sad case - Robert's dad; Sir Walter Loxely too - dies in Godfrey's hand.

I don't really like the beginning of the story but somehow it shows how selfish King John is towards England.

Anyway, I do not want to be a spoiler for Roley Scott's new movie. Enjoy the movie!

Was hmmm... it was as scary as i expected.
It's more towards UNINVITED than SAW =)
The difference is everytime Freddy pops out, awwwh! thats the best part of the whole movie lol.
seriously! Eventho u noe he's gona appear suddenly plus the background sound effects that adds the greatest amount of adrenaline on you.Its like Jaws u noe? haha when the jaw swims out haha can u imagine? no? then watch Elm street! =p
Neway, theres two guys siting behind me lol and everytime Freddy pops out, They will pop up too =) and u noe wat, i got scared by them more ahah.. its like Freddy is there omg!
it got annoying tho but oh well, wat to do. =)
the actors where really good, especially Quientin the panic look on the face was awesome.
and Nancy aww shes pretty! and Kris is omg! theres 1 part where she's sooo omg! discusting but shes an awesome blonde =p
the other guy, forgot his name, not Jesse, another guy! haha he's cute. Reminds me of Edward in Twilight how he finds Kris tru the window =)
The make-up for Freddy was like a Malaysian kuih, i duno wat is it called but its yellowish, around 5cm long, made outta egg and has like the fishnet kinda look. i ate it with Dhal the last time... wait leme google it later =p
The crowd was damn tention the whole time and u'll never never fall asleep in this movie.
it helps your blood circulation even better lol.. all the heart attacks the movie gave me lolx =p
oh and theres this part where we can only hear Kris's breathing while shes walking in an unknown place, the whole cinema was sooo quite for that few seconds lol and i think its not a few seconds, its like maybe 10 sec? haha and you can hear ppl around like laughing and theres ppl who screams: BOO! haha all waiting for that moment .. it was soo intense that time lol.
Haha its a moment to remember =p

anyways, finally saw Ironman 2 yesterday.

thought it was pretty boring and anti-climax. ratings: 6.5/10. ... HOWEVER, Tony Stark was exceptionally cocky and confident as usual. SEXY MUCH! ;)

also caught Ip Man 2 (always used to pronounce it as Ai-Pee Men, haha! my chinese epic fail).

also thought it was just so-so, but i suppose that's because the first movie was so much better. meh. my mother reckons it was too violent :P

the different types of kung fu (Chinese Martial Art) were nicely choreographed and yes! well presented by Donnie Yan and Sammo Hung!
Donnie Yan is the master of Wing Chun where Sammo Hung is the master of Hung Kuen..

if you are a fan of Chinese martial art, i seriously don't see a point for u to miss this movie..
if you are a fan of movie..
then this movie is something that u can never miss too!

go watch it ppl!

Awesome 3-some Live in Malaysia

Special guesss TOKIO HOTEL

I got free tickets to TOKIO HOTEL!!! =p VIP tickets too!
Went there by bus with a few friends... it was drizzling then by 5.30pm. we got there around 6.15 ehhe...! the line to the entrance where long! all the way to the inside of 1utama! haha and guess wat? =p
we potong line hehhe... when the gates open, everyone rushed in... Its a mess! i heard they were waiting there since 4pm coz its free standing lolx.. and i got a great view too =)
we weren't late after all .

Before everything started. Deejay Fuzz was there to hit on the crowds with a remix of all the artistes including Lady Gaga, Pitbull and alot more... it helped in setting the crowds' mood for the coming band =) Some of them where dancing all the way. they really had alotta fun dancing and poping under the rain =p

Lolx and then the rain got heavy and u can see lotta colorful umbrellas on haha. =p plus the music and people jumping and dancing, the umbrellas where like colorful moving mushrooms. But the guards made them put it down coz the stage is not really high up and the ones at the back are blocked.
Oh this is a DJ hahha... no idea wats his name but he's from Hitz.fm.. he's cute in real life tho =p hahah. he started throwing guddy begs and Tokio Hotel shirts =)

POP SHUVIT LIVE IN MALAYSIA

The concert started off about 7pm with Pop Shuvit as the opening... The Rap-rock band together with Moots on vocals and their members sang 3 songs of their own to bring the crowd up!

JD! the Chinese dude played really well that night along with Marshall amp! We were all Shuvit-ed!

CUTE RUDY Hahah... =p He totally smash the drums that day!
Oh and guess wat? Moots the vocalist jumped ON the crowd! omg! its so kewl that he did that.. haha the securities where all around haha... the gurls scream like crazy for them =p

BUCKFACE Live In Malaysia

The Malaysian Rock band came up next with their fuzzy hair haha... =p with Golden haired Sam as the vocalist and guitarist, and crazy volumed up hairdo, the bass guitarist and backup vocalist Youk together with Paan the lead guitarist and drummer Ejam.

Together, they performed 3 songs too! including the well known Mara bahaya from KL drift which keep the crowd going screaming all the time.
During 1 of the slow song, i dun rmb wats the tittle but people luv it alot =p
The mic kinda got shut down.. the crowd where boo-ing... but they didnt noe!
OMG and the technicians didnt do anything about it! how embarasing is that! plus they waited untill the song ended then the vocalist realized he said " What? You guys cant hear me? Do you want some more?!"
Vocalist then took out his water gun and played around =)

TOKIO HOTEL Live In Malaysia

The band went off and guess wat? its the TOKIO HOTEL turn!!! =)
But deejay Fuzz came up and started playing some songs... it lasted for like AN HOUR! Imagine waiting for the Tokios for sooooo long. Most of the people where sitting down and the mood werent there untill Deejay played JUSTIN BIEBER's BABY! and the gurls including me jumped up straight and started screaming! hahah JUSTIN is just unbelievable =)
anyway... waited and waited till 9pm i guess... and we heard the strings being strummed and its the TOKIO HOTEL!

The German band came out together with super great amount of white fog around the stage!

Bill Kaulitz the vocalist omg! he's just soooo pretty! yes pretty! he's fair and tall and *skinny* yea skinny ... read again... very skinny! he looked like an anorexic. He really gives a rush of adrenaline especially for the gurls who shouted and screamed the hell outta them (I was one of them =)) He realy pulled out the look of the MJackson black top with golden long strings =) and those awesome dark mohawky style! so cute!!! and the the the eyes! tones of make-up there... Just like Adam Lambert =p hopefully Bill's not gay =p

He swayed his mic stand around holding his blink blink white mic. waved and smiled at the crowd.. sometimes i felt like he's looking at me haha..

Bill's identical brother, Tom were on the guitars that night... they were that identical that night... with the awesome fingers of Tom's that strike on the strings were awesome! and his pleated hair haha... cute too!

George Listing the bassist kept swinging his awesome straight blonde hair haha... and Gustav Schafer as the drummer wore a simple white singlet as the Chinese here say the *Fried Kuey Teow uncle style*. Scroll up and u can see him in the 1st picture.
The band ended with Monsoon =p awesome song ! it was around 1030 then =)
Bill's eyeliner stayed on haha.. wonder wat brand he uses! haha
The concert were awesome!
just that theres a too big gap between bands like the All American Rejects (AAR) concert last year.
Next up! PITBULL in Genting ! =p

So today, DMC students and lecturers gathered around at Level 4 for makan² event; which is also known as Potluck. Well actually I had no idea what was the name of the event. Basically this makan² event (i do not want to use "food event". sounds too manly) is all about juniors meet the seniors. When I entered the lecturer hall, I felt kinda old because I can't believe I'm a sophomore there.

Oh well, do not be surprised with the lady above here :). She might be "ugly" but thanks to her, her stepsister get to marry with the ~~schmuck~~ prince - or should I say, cute and lovely?

Emma Poole casts as Ruth Fisher in Confessions Of An Ugly Stepsister. Yes I know this is an old movie and it's taken from Gregory Maguire's novel (1999) and to be frankly, this is one of my favorite fantasy movies (besides Alice in Wonderland 2010).

Well, as you know the "real" Cinderella fairy tale tells us how bad both of the stepsisters in the tale but in here, Ruth and Iris are good stepsisters. They love Clara (Cinderella) like their own sister - except for Magarethe; the stepmother. She puts two-three drops potion into Clara's father's drink just to ensure the house belongs to her and two daughters ONLY. But in the end, she loss the game and she has to give in to Clara. All thanks to Ruth for her clumsiness at the ball :)

I do not want to be a spoiler for this classical movie and also the novel. I've been watching this movie since it was first released (2002) and till now, I love it to bit! I know the story line is a bit classical and boring but once you've read the book, you'd enjoy the movie.

Since you have three weeks to enjoy your holiday, why not grab the chance to watch the movie with your beloved siblings and family! =)

first of all, u have to sign in to blog spot and you will enter the dashboard page which u can see this..

click on Edit Posts.

after that, u will see this page...

see the word Delete at the right end of the entry? the word Delete appears differently for different contributor. as for picture above, it is showing for my entries.

can u see the word draft also? these are the draft post that have not posted up on the blog. so to those contributor that actually make the draft post, kindly click on the word Delete. then you will see this.

click on Delete it.. and then you are done! =)..

this is for us to clean up our blog.. =)..

After two years of silent, Go Radio finally released their second EP - Do Overs And Second Chances. Supposedly this EP consists of only five tracks but then they decided to add another two additional tracks.

If you're a music lover and you do not know what music you guys wanna listen and since Summer is around the corner, quickly grab this EP! I promise you this band will not disappoint you with their seven songs especially Goodnight Moon and When Dreaming Gets Drastic.

Did I mention what is their genre? Go Radio is an alternative rock from Tallahassee, Florida. If you had notice, the singer (Jason Lancaster) is the former singer from the band Mayday Parade and in April 2007, he decided to form a band with Steven Kopacz and Patrick Hosey (former musicians from Don't Die Cindy). But then, Hosey left the band and had been replaced by Tony Planas but again he left and been replaced by Alex Reed.

People, this EP is a must to own because it's lyrics-wise and pretty nice to hear on your boring days :)

KELLY CLARKSON IN MALAYSIA

I got a discounted ticket to Kelly Clarkson live at bukti jalil last sunday.. Weee!
Oh btw, whoever that wants tickets can ask from me hehe... coz my uncle can got discounted ones =p
neway! i got there around 7.30pm coz the tickets have got seats numbers hehe...
the crowd where awesome! Theres a bunch of Mat salleh sitting behind me =) lolx and they are reallly pretty! Jacklyn Victor sang for the opening... some malay song... some where familiar some i've never heard before but it really warmed up the crowd tho =)
then Suki came... the one in a million winner.. omg! she had became so pretty! she use to be quite fleshy lolx.. she came with some big red gown lolx like for weddings... i din think its suitable tho. i mean just wear a normal dress that we use to go for proms and wedding dinners its ok.
She started off with playing violin... and the Mat Salleh behind me where talking.
Mat salleh 1: she's a beginner isnt she?
Mat Salleh 2:Like Yea! look at her? ahhhahah

i'm guessing the Matsalleh 2 is a violinist tho =p neway, there where some amp prob for the violin. She was soo close to being Booo off the stage... lolx but she sang some malay song. =) sweet voice tho.
And then 2 white vans came. 1 with a tinted class... and we noe then that its KELLY!!!
wooooo it was around 9pm when she come up on stage! haha
Everyone was screaming like crazy then! hahaa! includin me! =p
She came on casual clothing and took off her sandals so truout half of the concert she was barefoot haha..
she said:" I enjoy sweating to death" haha
and she said:" I have no idea why i wore my makeup today"
then she tied up her hair and went for the big fan by the stage haha...
i can see that she's really sweating like alot! =)
despite that she's a bit big in size plus she wore tights and its full black, she maintain her vocals really well!
The crowd was abit sad at first coz we cant stand up and jump coz the securities are there =(
the backup ssinger is hawt! haha... they both of the Bg looks like Kelly ahha.. tot its her sisters =)
then she sang Because of u.. she nearly cried! its a beautiful song!
she said:" this is a song i wrote when i was young"
she let the crowd sing along.
OMG imagine if everyone in the world knows your song and the lyrics.. must be realy nicE!

neway... it lasted bout 1 and a 1/2 hours ahah more than enuf to gimme sore throat..

it made everyone jump and cheer!! =)it was awesome!!
oh and it was her birthday that day tooo turned 28yr =p
the fans at the back sang happy birthday but she was too busy talking she din hear.. haha too bad.
neway! the guitarist threw their picks off and Kelly just ran outta stage.. and u see the tinted van drives off and we waved haha. =)
awesome! it wasnt as sweaty as AAR but its still awesome!! haha

this is an old movie.. as in, not current one.. (2008)
but i only watched it recently.. thanks to Michelle and Christy for telling me there is such nice movie.. so i decided to give it a try..
but, it was really a great movie..
i'm not sure how many of you actually watch before, but no harm posting it up for those that never watched before, to watch it right?

movie is directed by Danny Boyle. The story is about, Jamal Malik, an orphan from the slums of Mumbai, is only one last question away from winning the game "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".

however, after the show breaks of the night, he was arrested by the police in the accusation of cheating. to prove his innocence, Jamal told the cop about his life in the slum where he and the brother grew up - of the adventures on the roads, of the vicious local gangs, of how they survived, of Jamal's love. every question, is related to his life experience. the truth revealed with every question asked.

this is a really touching movie. it uses a very good idea to present the story, three different ages of Jamal. but he never changed. never give up, on him, his brother and his love ones, Latika.

i like the young boy that plays Jamal when he was a kid.. very good in acting.. =)...

a week before he passed away

Malaysia was awake with a tragically tragic news of Achik Spin (Abdillah Murad Md Shari) who was a lead singer for the most top and famous boy band late in 1990s - Spin, died in a car accident last Saturday around 6.15pm at KM14 (LEKAS Kajang Seremban Highway)

Achik (28) and his friend were on the way to visit his (Achik) family at Seremban when this accident happened. His friend managed to crawl out from the car but Achik died on the spot due to the injuries that he had.

It is such a sad case for whoever that knows him. I mean, he was a talented singer. He had the voice but yet tragic strikes him away. A few years ago, Achik's daughter passed away a few days after she was born and I believe she can now see her father in Heaven ♥. Yet sad to say, Achik had a lovely wife but he had to leave her with two little babies.

He was a handsome teenager back in 2000 :P I remember I used to cheer him when he and his band had a tour in Johor Bahru. I missed those moments =/ Rest in Peace Achik...

IPOH: Orang Asli Yok Meneh has been foraging in the forest for years bringing home petai and other vegetation. Yesterday, the usual uneventful trek became a harrowing one for the Semai when a tiger pounced on him.

But the 47-year-old is not one to be easily done in. He summoned up courage and fought the animal with his hands and a rock. And the human won. The animal slunk away.

The attack left Yok Meneh with a gaping wound measuring 15.2cm (6in) long and 10cm (4in) deep on his back. He also suffered injuries to his hands and legs from fighting back.

Harrowing experience: Yok Meneh showing reporters the wound on his back as his wife describes how the tiger attacked him, at the Telok Intan Hospital Saturday.

“In all my years of going into the forest to collect produce, this is the first time I have been attacked by a tiger,” said Yok Meneh,from his bed at the Teluk Intan Hospital.

He was in the forest near his house at Kampung Ras in Sungkai, about 80km from here, when the incident happened.

“I was so engrossed in collecting petai that I did not notice the tiger had crept up behind me,” he said, adding that the tiger was silent until it had pounced on him and pinned him down.

“And then it started growling and growling. I shouted for help before it sunk in that I was all alone and no one could save me.

“The moment I realised I had to save myself I tried to grab anything I could with my hands.

“I found a rock, grabbed it and fought back, hitting the tiger on its head again and again until it slunk away.”

The feisty orang asli then dragged himself about 1.6km out of the forest to his home.

When his wife saw him bedraggled and bleeding, she sought the help of a worker from a nearby oil palm estate to take him to a clinic.

However, because of the severity of his injuries, Yok Meneh was transferred to the Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.

Asked whether the attack would deter him from going back into the forest, Yok Meneh said he had no choice but to continue as his family’s survival depended on the produce he collected.

Laura Hall, a 20-year-old girl from England got banned from every bar and pub in the country.

According to Daily Mail, she got committed a series of public order offences in Bromsgove, Worcestershire.

Somehow I found this article is pretty funny because I've never heard of any cases that a person can get banned from a pub/bar. Also, Laura has to pay £2,500 fine and probably might go to jail for this. The thing is, it never stated what she had done in either she was being a drunken wreck or break a bottle. Somehow, rules are meant to be broken I guess :)

Okay seriously. Do you guys ever stop and really think where does lost things go after they're, well, lost? Exactly. So here comes along Cecelia Ahern's A Place Called Here.

Sandy Shortt, in fact she is very tall!, is an obsessed woman w/ finding her things. She would literally ransack and turn the whole house upside down and inside out to just find a missing bright orange sock. Nuts huh? She got so frustrated w/ losing things and failing to find them that she labeled everything of her stuff. So, she's all grown up now and runs a missing person agency, big surprises huh. She was on an assignment finding a certain Donal Ruttle til she got lost that is. The lost place is called, Here.

Okay, so am not sure and I can't recall whether Su Ann did a review on this book. But yeahh, here's my verdict.

I won't say I'm a fan of Ahern. See, I thought the whole PS. I Love You was rather overrated. Hmm, that's my opinion. So yeahh. This book, well, loved the entire creative writing of hers. & the idea of the place Here is rather splendid actually! But the truth that Donal was actually murdered rather than being stuck in the magically, odd yet exuberant Here,that was kinda a let down for me. But overall, I'd give a 3 outta 5? Yeahh. HOHO sorry for the spoilers!

One funny thing is, I have a feeling the place Here does exist! I was so paranoid b/c I lost my mouse the other day and then to find it lying on the floor. Okay, putting that "Maybe Here does exist!!" thought aside, I went on til I got paranoid again. I mean seriously, where is my denim skirt and my necklace?!! )=

My gosh, i din even knew he was dead! only found out on the newspaper the next day!
He was the Malay mail's ex editor....
His children are awesome! he had a son that's deaf... but he went to form6 and nobody he was deaf. as he can speak like a normal kid and reacts normally. I myself din even noe till mummy told me. He had no prob with his children's studies coz they where all good =)
if i'm not mistaken, his wife went before him. I went for her funeral...
I dun really rmb but it was really gloomy and now their dad...

Listen up!!! Malaysia is not experiencing a 2nd wave for H1N1~~

Which means that we still have hope for cure. Because if its second wave, it would be different with a more virulent virus.

678 cases of flu-like illness is treated at a hospital now... 66 ppl have been confirmed to be affected. A lawyer died of H1N1 on Monday. He first had a little flu but later he complain to his wife that he couldn't stand it. He was in pain and wants to be admitted into a hospital. He then soon started coughing blood. The doctor actually told his family problem that there's nothing to worry about... (see how unprofessional are the doctors there??)
He was then transferred to the island republic when his health melts down.
He died at the hospital in Singapore even before they had a chance to treat him.
this was reported on the front page of the Star today.

Wat i think is that, if u have minor flu, its better to go check it out in a clinic 1st. coz the hospitals now are filled with the H1N1 virus. There's a larger chance to be infected there. The best prevention is still taking care of your personal hygiene.

I wonder why nowadays there are so many disaster and nature death. Man. The world has gone insane. I need a pacifier.

At least, 400 people got killed in the 7.1 magnitude earthquake happened an hour and thirty-seven minutes ago (8.25PM Malaysia time) in west China, which is pretty much close to Tibet. Half a dozen aftershocks followed, reaching 5.8 magnitude.

The vast majority of Yushu residents there are ethnic Tibetans or Mongolians who live in flimsy wooden houses with earthen walls.

Merseyside teacher denies drunken sex with pupil

A trainee teacher at a public school had sex with a 16-year-old pupil after she got him drunk on cider, Liverpool Crown Court has heard.

Hannah McIntyre, 25, a classics teacher at Merchant Taylor's Boys' School in Crosby, Merseyside, also kissed the boy during dare games, the court was told.

The offences are said to have taken place at McIntyre's Waterloo home.

She denies one count of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.

Prosecutor Gerald Baxter said she allowed the boy and two friends into her home on a Friday night, later buying them cider which they drank while watching television and playing a dare game.

'Passionate' kiss

The boy later followed her into the bedroom where they had sex, Mr Baxter said.

The court heard Ms McIntyre was already drinking wine when the boys arrived and all four sat and watched television and talked until they all went to an off-licence.

Mr Baxter said she agreed to buy the boys a two-litre bottle of cider and bought more wine for herself.

When they returned to the house, Mr Baxter said, one of the boys dared the defendant to kiss the alleged victim.

"The kiss was described as quite passionate," the barrister told the jury.

He said that the boy was unclear in his recollection of how they ended up in bed together and how the sexual activity began.

'Sex noises'

"But he does recall having sexual intercourse with her," Mr Baxter said.

Ms McIntyre told the head teacher of £8,000-a-year Merchant Taylors' that three boys had spent the night at her house and the school launched an inquiry.

When the boys were interviewed by the deputy head, they all denied drinking alcohol and denied any of them went into Ms McIntyre's bedroom, the court heard.

The following September, the alleged victim's mother questioned him and he told her what had happened, the court heard.

Ms McIntyre was arrested in January 2009 and when interviewed said the boys called at her home and walked in uninvited.

When the alleged victim followed her into the bedroom, she said he sat on the bed and made sex noises as a joke to his friends in the living room, Mr Baxter said.

She denied any sexual activity took place.

The trial continues.

stumbled upon this video last night, while battling a very bad case of insomnia.

it's simply titled "Son", by the SisterFilmsLtd and was written and directed by Daniel Mulloy. most people say you don't have to understand an art film to love it and i totally didn't get the video at first, but after the third watch ... anyways, it starts off with the boy, being filmed; it's like he's playing a character in a movie. the director of the movie seems to be his mother's abusive boyfriend. and then there's this long scene where both mother and son appear to be running away, but all the gates are locked -- signifying that there's no escape in that abusive relationship? the lights are turning off one by one, and they're both running towards the light tunnel -- i suppose it's like a metaphor to escape the darkness of the abuse? the video also has a circular ending; it ends where it begins, except at the end, you realize that the son is witnessing the "director" raping his mother and there are cameraman and lighting crew all around, as though he's acting in a movie.

i think it's a very subconscious thing -- it's almost as though, in his mind, the boy is pretending that his life is a movie and he's merely playing a character. none of it is real; the abuse, his mother's mood swings and the director's cruelty. i've heard that it's a way of coping, when you pretend none of the bad stuff is really happening to you.

short review:

this movie had substance! :) not a whole lot of substance but definitely more original than your average romance movie. steve carell and tina fey play the parts of a boring, married couple, stuck in a routine. in an attempt to add spice into their relationship, they take up another couple's dinner reservations (the Triplehorns, who didn't show for their reservations) at a swanky restaurant/bar and ends up biting off more than they can chew after being mistaken for being the Triplehorns ... and the story takes off from there :) i can't say more without revealing spoilers! not a bad movie. not a bad movie at all.

After watching these videos, my heart feels the pain and shocked. Seriously, this is the most horrible and unimaginable crime case ever. She was only 17 year old, and went through 44days of torturing.

Trust me, if you don't have a strong heart, I advice, do not read.

I will summarized the case for those who are not have a strong heart.

She was kidnapped by 4 boys for 44 days. She got rapped for many times and tortured. She was forced to lie by calling her parents where she ran away from home and at a safer place. She then got abused and heavy injuries and more unspoken cruel acts, no one helps her at all.
Cruel murderers of hers, were free men now because they were juvenile. She passed away in pain and lonely, without a help from people. She was once begged them to kill her other than torture her. The parents of one of the murderer even did not give a damn to it where they actually stayed in the same house where Junko Furuta was there too.

Although it been 20 years ago, as we can see, how cruel of a human being is. I do not believe there was such horrible crime case until i saw it myself. Are women life meant to be weak and short ? Where is the right for women? Still today 2010, rapping cases are still happening everything.Will one day walking along the street, and you only see man while women stay at home for safety?

Morning sunshine! Here I am reporting not live at all about earthquake just happened in Tijuana, Mexico earlier this morning (3.40PM PDT hello!!)

The earthquake was magnitude 7.2 and it is to believe the most strongest earthquake to hit on Southern California in more than a decade and also managed to give a big shock to ten millions people in two countries and three states on Sunday, swaying buildings from Los Angeles to Phoenix to Las Vegas.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, three aftershocks of magnitudes 5.1, 4.5 and 4.3 followed within the hour.

please watch it! it's over 9 minutes long but visually captivating. i do think she dealt with heavier issues this time around (homosexuality, murder, sexual exploitation, nudity etc.), which of course earned her a lot of media backlash. read here and here. but i personally felt that apart from the cheesy lines ("You've been a very bad girl. A very, very, bad, bad girl, Gaga. -- Beyonce), the video was pretty cool :) i always like her videos! her songs may be really, really annoying but the videos are fun, albeit dripped in controversy! this time around she adopted a very superhero, vintage, comic feel for the music video.

i guess everyone is looking forward for this movie.. i have watched it yesterday but not the 3d version.. i would say this is a nice movie as i always wanted to know more about the mythology of Greek. the pace is also fast enough for the movie.

This news is two days old late but I see no one posts it up so I decided to post it.

Din Beramboi or his full name - Mior Ahmad Fuad Mior Badri passed away last Friday morning exactly at 0035hr due to Dengue Shock Syndrome. He was the most famous DJ Radio for Era.FM and was a singer back in 1980s.

Malaysia again has lost another big star this year. I first heard the news about him got admitted last Tuesday night but didn't know he already been buried on Friday afternoon. No one told me about it - included my friend who used to work with him. It's pretty sad because I was doing my shooting and none of my friends called me to join the last prayer for Arwah.

Source says Arwah suffered dengue shock syndrome when he was doing his shooting at Zoo Negara. Down here is taken from Arwah's twitter before he passed away.

Malaysia's first mainstream gay movie

ARE Malaysian moviegoers ready for the first mainstream Malaysian-made movie about homosexuals?

That will be answered when ... Dalam Botol, directed by Khir Rahman, opens nationwide at the end of the year. The film will be his directorial debut.

The controversial film, its original title was Anu Dalam Botol, focuses on the relationship between a gay couple that ends tragically.

Newcomers Azharudin Ramli and Saiful Redzuan Abu Bakar, play the lead roles after beating more well-known and established actors such as Adi Putra and Norman Hakim for the coveted roles as the first local on-screen gay couple.

Producer Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman is hopeful that the film will do well in cinemas.

If ... Dalam Botol gets shown in the cinemas, it will create history as the first gay-themed film ever to be shown openly in Malaysia.

Similar Hollywood films like Brokeback Mountain, Borat and Bruno were banned here.

A local short film on the lives of transvestites making a living in Jalan Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, Bukak Api (2000), directed by Osman Ali, was only allowed to be shown in private screenings.

Another film on transvestites, 2 Alam produced by dR Movie Productions is expected to be shown in June.

However, the character of the transvestite in the movie is played by Singaporean actress Suhailah Salam.

'Hand of God' gets attacked in the face

Argentine football legend savagely attacked in the face by his pet Shar Pei after trying to comfort it.

Famously known for his amazing skills on a football field and infamously known for his ‘Hand of God’ act at the 1986 World Cup which led to England’s exit that year, Diego Armando Maradona has one more infamous act to add to his illustrious career.

It all started when Bela, Maradona’s pet Shar Pei was suffering from a stomach illness that day and crept into the football star’s bedroom at around 1am. As Diego bent over to kiss his ill pet on the lips, the dog snapped and took a big chunk out of the footballer’s face.

The 49-year old star was rushed to the hospital with a bleeding mouth and was administered anti-tetanus jabs before having to have micro-surgery on his upper lips.

According to The Sun, a spokesperson for the hospital Maradona was admitted to said that, "He was evaluated by plastic surgeons and taken to an operating room, where they carried out reconstructive surgery on his upper lip."

Maradona, upset at his dog’s behavior, fears that he may have to put his dog down after the ordeal that left him traumatized and severely injured.

just got back from GSC. verdict: the movie was disappointing! :( i'm sorry, but i really did expect it to be more .. i don't know. quirky, offbeat, absurd, mad? i'm almost 110% sure everyone has seen it by now so i won't bother review-ing it. the best parts have got to be the scenes with the Red Queen. but Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter -- madly disappointing as well :( visually, of course, Alice in Wonderland was stunning. but logic and the tried-and-tested heroin-to-the-rescue plot have never seemed more boring and predictable!

tim burton & johhny depp could have taken this movie to a much higher level -- what a missed opportunity!

okay fine. ... maybe it wasn't SO bad, and i would have died missing this movie anyway but still. i don't know! i had much higher expectations for the movie because the book was so brilliantly nuts.

Wong Swee Chin aka Botak Chin was the most notorious gangster back in the 70's. Botak Chin was born in 1951 in Kuala Lumpur and a school drop out at the age of 15. He then later work as a fishmonger at Jalan Tun Ismail Market, after his mother's death, Botak Chin often hang out with his friends and away from his family. Away from his father's watchful eye's Botak Chin joined the 360 gang (Sak Pak Loh), and start committing small crimes. At the age of 18, Botak Chin illegally owned his first firearms and proceed robbing sprees with his gang. He was caught by police and bought to jail, However within a few months he was released from prison 1974, he formed another gang consisting a few of his friends,Ng Cheng Wong (aka Ah Wong), Beh Kok Chin (aka Pangkor Chai) and Teh Bok Lay (aka Seh Chai).

A month after that, he again purchase firearms from Thailand, he first robbed the illegal gambling den and made off with RM 5800, he then purchase more firearms from Thailand and robbed a bank in Jalan Imbi and fled with RM 95,000. He also robbed mahjong players inside a Chinese temple in Jalan Kolam Ayer and made off with RM10,000. Botak Chin is fearless and determined in pursuing his goals. On 25 September, although one of his right hand men, Chau Kuan (aka Ah Kuan) was shot dead at a sundry shop at Jalan Kovil Hilir, this did not affect his gang activities.
Their biggest robberies was on Oct 26 1975, where the gang fled with RM218,000 after gunning down a security guard delivering money to a horse racing club. With his share of approximately RM40,000 from the robbery, he again went to Thailand. This time he purchased even more weapons adding his arsenal to 19 guns, 5 hand grenades and 1,000 bullets. He was also suspected to practice black magic as in one of the epic incident in Segambut Dalam, he managed to escape unharmed despite his car riddled with bullets.

Neway, its called HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.

My bro drag me into the cinema at first. i tot this is gona be like the Sherk or toys stories...

But... it was actually really nicE! ahha... I think this movie is really really cute!

Its a bout a barbarian kid who lived in a place where everyone, everyone except him kills dragons. Apparently, he's the son of the so called *Ketua*.

the movie is produced mainly to the kids... so its scary and at the same time making the kids feel safe by having the cute looking dragons that means no harm and all.

I think the movie is more towards trust and faith. Its a father-son thingy.

Theres this girl named Astrid that i really liked! =p At first when i saw her, i was imagining how would i like in those *barbarian* outfits (compared to Zena the worrior princess, this is even better) and also her hair! omg! she's blone, she's skinny, tall, pretty, strong (Actually more towards manly but the combination of her is just awesome) But manly hmmm.. she too got herself into trouble with the dragon and nearly cried about it. oh well, she kissed a guy too. haha somehow, they just combined her in a way that makes me like her =p

And guess wat? the dragons are really really cute! haha completely harmless...

The way the hero in the movie communicates with the dragon is so hillarious!

Well, some of you guys have not watch it yet so i'm not gona crack the endings and all.

I just think it's a good movie. Oh, one more thing that is taugh tru this movie is that saying sorry is not hard at all. when you're in a trouble, apologizing is a way to start. So watch it ppl! try 3D there's gona be lota flying and flamings =p

Loong:New Invention? "Sensors turn skin into gadget control pad"

Tapping your forearm or hand with a finger could soon be the way you interact with gadgets.

US researchers have found a way to work out where the tap touches and use that to control phones and music players.

Coupled with a tiny projector the system can use the skin as a surface on which to display menu choices, a number pad or a screen.

The sensors can spot many different locations on the arm

Early work suggests the system, called Skinput, can be learned with about 20 minutes of training.

"The human body is the ultimate input device," Chris Harrison, Skinput's creator, told BBC News.

Sound solution

He came up with the skin-based input system to overcome the problems of interacting with the gadgets we increasingly tote around.

Gadgets cannot shrink much further, said Mr Harrison, and their miniaturisation was being held back by the way people are forced to interact with them.

The size of human fingers dictates, to a great degree, how small portable devices can get. "We are becoming the bottleneck," said Mr Harrison.

A finished device would be far smaller than the bulky prototype

To get around this Mr Harrison, a PhD student in computer science at Carnegie Mellon and colleagues Desney Tan and Dan Morris from Microsoft Research, use sensors on the arm to listen for input.

A tap with a finger on the skin scatters useful acoustic signals throughout the arm, he said. Some waves travel along the skin surface and others propagate through the body. Even better, he said, the physiology of the arm makes it straightforward to work out where the skin was touched.

Differences in bone density, arm mass as well as the "filtering" effects that occur when sound waves travel through soft tissue and joints make many of the locations on the arm distinct.

Software coupled with the sensors can be taught which sound means which location. Different functions, start, stop, louder, softer, can be bound to different locations. The system can even be used to pick up very subtle movements such as a pinch or muscle twitch.

"The wonderful thing about the human body is that we are familiar with it," said Mr Harrison. "Proprioception means that even if I spin you around in circles and tell you to touch your fingertips behind your back, you'll be able to do it."

"That gives people a lot more accuracy then we have ever had with a mouse," he said.

Early trials show that after a short amount of training the sensor/software system can pick up a five-location system with accuracy in excess of 95%.

Accuracy does drop when 10 or more locations are used, said Mr Harrison, but having 10 means being able to dial numbers and use the text prediction system that comes as standard on many mobile phones.

The prototype developed by the research team sees the sensors enclosed in a bulky cuff. However, said Mr Harrison, it would be easy to scale them down and put them in a gadget little bigger than a wrist watch.

Mr Harrison said he envisages the device being used in three distinct ways.

The sensors could be coupled with Bluetooth to control a gadget, such as a mobile phone, in a pocket. It could be used to control a music player strapped to the upper arm.

Finally, he said, the sensors could work with a pico-projector that uses the forearm or hand as a display surface. This could show buttons, a hierarchical menu, a number pad or a small screen. Skinput can even be used to play games such as Tetris by tapping on fingers to rotate blocks.

Mr Harrison would not be drawn on how long it might take Skinput to get from the lab to a commercial product. "But," he said, "in the future your hand could be your iPhone and your handset could be watch-sized on your wrist."

Today have seen our senior's exhibition at L3- MPH. The theme is about how to make the earth more healthy by reuse, reduce and recycle. I think this exhibition is very sucessful as it had deliver a message to every people that had go into that exhibition. This exhibition was take part by all mass communication student :) (And what was truth is that Miss Nalenna was beautiful with the two big ear ring and the make up :D) Through this exhibition, I had learn that every people is the media. They always deliver the msg through conversation. No matter what course you in, how old are you, what gender are you and also what race and religion you belong, what language you use, it's doesn't matter, the important part was that a msg had delivered. The theme of the exhibition was very appropriate for this society nowadays as many people had realized how important was the environment to them. It's time for us to take action to protect our mother land and don forget to join the "EARTH HOUR" at 27 March 2010 at this saturday from 8.30pm-9.30pm.

No, I am not asking you to be a vegetarian just like me. I am not promoting how good to be a vegetarian and how proud I am to be a vegetarian. Somehow, what hurts me the most is when beasts abuse animals like raccoon dogs, foxes, rabbits, snakes, sheep and such for fur. I once wore a crocodile bag but now since I know how these innocent animals got to be skinned out, I vow I'll never wear fur or anything that has animal skin.

I was crying when I watched Eva Mendes: Fur Trade Video at PeTA. Somehow, when I clicked on a link, a video about how China cut these animals' skins and fur. And they are all still alive. I repeat - A L I V E.

No, I am not trying to scare all of you. I'm not stopping anyone to love what they love or what they always wear. I just feel, sad for these animals. I just can't believe people kill animals for such human's survivor. I somehow, cried when I watched this.

Girl Power!

Last Saturday, which was on the 20th of March 2010 was my mother's birthday. For this reason, we went to a hotel for a buffet lunch/tea time with her friends, who always get together on their respective birthdays(I know, irrelevant, but wait, I'm getting there)

One of my mother's childhood friends, Dr. Hamidah Merican, who is always there is the Executive Director of a women's rights movement known as Sisters in Islam(mainly for Muslim women rights). I recently found out that Marina Mahathir is part of this movement. Previously, I have heard stories about the movement, what it stands for and other relevant matters. However, on this particular day, when Dr Hamidah Merican arrived at the buffet, there was a chatter amongst the adults congratulating her and asking her a bunch of questions. This got me curious, and that was when I asked one of my mother's other friend,"Auntie, what is all the fuss, what happened?" and got a reply "She met Obama, you didn't know?" and I went " Oh my god, what? No, I hadn't heard."

This, again, got me started as my excitement rose for being in the same room as a person who has met Barack Obama(other than Faisal Hassan if I'm not mistaken :) ), the president of the United States of America, as well as leaders from various countries. This is because she had also traveled to Australia and England to meet with other prominent figures to discuss the purpose and reason for the existence of Sisters in Islam. Dr. Hamidah Merican had discussed the matter of caning women which surfaced during Kartika's trial, the part time model/mother who had been caught consuming alcohol. She addressed the fact that, imaterial of this woman's actions, women should not be caned under any circumstances as Islam teaches one to care and provide for women, not hurt them.

This shout out may not have anything much to do with media but I am sure this occurance has broken a few grounds for Sisters in Islam as this group finds it difficult to voice out their views and opinions on Islamic Law here in Malaysia but has got all the other main political figures hearing them out. Even Barack Obama had voiced out his support for the group during Dr. Hamidah Merican's meeting with him. This goes to show the power of women if you try to mess with them or think that they are weakly able to be stepped on.

On second thought, I guess the media can be involved as Dr. Hamidah Merican could not have possibly gotten contacts or set up a meeting with Barack Obama or vice versa if not for the modern media :D .

suffering from writer's block. cannot seem to write another word for my feature article assignment :( this is crazy! (btw, what's the word limit, anyone?) hence! here i am.

okay, so has anyone seen "Green Zone"?

(cannot believe i've seen Green Zone and not AiW.)

(but really, i was forced to. Anil loves war movies. it's like playing CS, with better effects.)

it stars Matt Damon. and basically his was the only name i recognized in the whole castlist -- others include Yigal Naor, Said Faraj, Faycal Attugui and Aymen Hamdouchi. (you see what i mean!) IMDB gave Green Zone a 7.2/10 ratings. and i don't know about you guys, but i have this thing (OCD alert!) about checking reviews before and sometimes, after i watch a movie. and you know, 7.2 for IMDB is not bad!

movie plot:

it's 2003, set during the first month of the Iraq war when the weapons of mass destruction used to justify the American-led invasion failed to materialise. Chief Warrant officer, Roy Miller (Damon) is the head of the WMD (weapons of mass destruction) search unit in Baghdad, assigned to find and secure Saddam's chemical weapons using Pentagon-approved "intel". only problem is, his unit keeps coming up empty at every site they are ordered to search for WMD. his superiors keep telling him to keep his mouth shut, and gradually his frustration leads him to CIA specialist, Martin Brown. together, they team up to uncover the truth. but what is the truth?

in the movie (apparently, it mirrors reality), Lawrie Dayne works for the Wall Street Journal and it was she who first wrote about the possibility of the existence of WMD in Iraq ... which subsequently led to the war. and after the destruction of a city and the loss of so many lives, not being able to even FIND the WMD? and the chance that it probably doesn't exist at all? chilling.

i thought about the influence of media a lot during the movie.

"U.S. military and political leaders charge in ready to do anything they can convince the American public to accept."

am suddenly reminded of the movie "Wag the Dog."

so my point is -- the movie was okay. granted, the chasing-and-shooting scenes (what's a matt damon movie without them?) get really tiring after a while, but other than that, it's pretty worth it :)

Massive sandstorm turns Beijing's streets yellow

BEIJING (Reuters) - Tonnes of sand from deserts in China's interior blew into Beijing on Saturday, shrouding China's capital in a yellow-orange haze that authorities warned made the air quality "hazardous".

There were few people out on streets where pedestrians could taste the dust. Many of those who had ventured from their homes were wearing facemasks, and some left footprints in the yellow film that had settled on the city's streets.

Beijing's weather forecasting bureau gave the air quality a rare "5", or hazardous, rating and added that it was "not suitable for morning exercises". Parks and open spaces are usually packed from early in the day with enthusiasts doing martial arts, ballroom dancing and other activities.

The sandstorms underline the environmental degradation investors identify as one of the long-term constraints on growth in China, and concern about its impact has made a less resource-intensive model of growth a priority for Beijing.

The government has spent millions of dollars on projects to rein in the spread of deserts, planting trees and trying to protect what plant cover remains in marginal areas.

But the battle is being fought against a backdrop of rising average temperatures and increasing pressure on water resources after three decades of booming growth.

The sandstorm hit Beijing around midnight, carrying huge amounts of dust and heading south east, the official Xinhua news agency said. In northern Changping district, the wind reached speeds of up to 100 km per hour (60 mph).

The swirling clouds of dust and sand had blanketed the interior provinces of Qinghai and Gansu, and western Xinjiang region, before sweeping over the capital, Xinhua said.

Art is Something That You Can Get Away with.

I asked my friends about this film, Brokeback Mountain, they all reacted the same way: "Why would I want to watch a gay movie?"

First of all, there is nothing wrong with being a homosexual. I, of all people, know that. Just because someone is gay or a lesbian or a bi, doesn't mean that they eat people. It's their choice. They are grownups. People need to be open minded. You don't need to think outside of the box or be a modern city yuppy to realize that the choices people make for their sexuality is what they truly desire.

Moving on, this film is a great film. I don't understand why people won't watch it. I must admit, the sex scene between Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger is a bit, well, awkward to watch. But the story, the acting, the script of this film are just awesome.

In a way, this film is not very much different from Twilight. You see, Twilight is about forbidden love. So is Brokeback Mountain! Films about forbidden love between two lovers are always very emotional and entertaining to watch. What makes this film any different than other films about forbidden love? Nothing. The only difference is that they are both guys. That's all.

Don't see this movie as nothing more than a gay movie because it is a masterpiece and for you to judge it before even watching it is truly shameful.
